Hi Everyone...
I've never attempted to write much about myself in the past, mainly because in doing so you expose yourself and allow every man and sundry to have a dig at you because you're different, because you haven't had a stroke, heart attack or major operation and haven't lost the use of some part of your anatomy or some other hard luck story that makes you more important than everyone else that you must mention it with almost every posting across the internet that you make. I shall refer to this type of person from now on as the “moaner”
At my age, and let me tell you, retirement can't come fast enough, I have zero tolerance for idiots, time wasters, prima donnas’, self proclaimed experts and level headed people, a chip on each shoulder.
Over the years, I have gained some really good friends in this hobby. It is a hobby by the way people; I could count on one hand how many artists are actually making a living out of their images and most of them are dead now.
Lately I’ve come under attack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time in my usually New Zealand slang based language. I don’t make excuses for it just as the objectors make no excuses for their reactions. Kiwi slang is not the easiest to understand at the best of times, but a little “Google is your friend” fixes most of the meanings. These people that complain, I write them off very quickly, they don’t pay my bills, contribute nothing to the development of communication and only what you to succumb to their holier than thou way of thinking. Impossible.
I get banned from their gallery pages (oh and this really hurts me people, maybe if you stamped your feet a little more it would make a difference). I get filthy notes and innuendo comments scattered across web pages about how stupid, nonsensical, idiotic and hypocrital I am. This of course, may all be true in the eyes of the “moaner” and in fact a lot of people, but it doesn’t give them the right to judge me against themselves or any other person on this planet. Who made the rules for them to do so? What actually makes them an authority? There artwork? Their following? Their hard luck life story perhaps.
I’ve just had enough of “moaners”.
One other rule, if you don’t like or understand some of the comments you get on your images, then turn comments off. Remember you are not the model person the 7.4 billion of us want to be like. In the scheme of things you don’t really matter.
One quote I read once I particularly like…
When you dead, you’re dead, it’s just hard for the others, it’s the same when you’re stupid!
Let the bun fight begin.
